Budgeting can make or break a self build project. The more accurate your estimates, and the more honestly you account for every cost category, the better your chances of completing your home without crippling overspends.
Many people focus on the headline build cost and underestimate the surrounding costs: professional fees, planning contributions, site connection charges, temporary accommodation, and VAT on services. A robust budget includes all of these from day one.
