Developer Charles Everard is approaching commercial close for its 91-home sustainable Bickleigh Eco Village development near Roborough on the outskirst of Plymouth, designed by ZEDFactory. Included on the sustainable site are 14 units offering a significant amount of customisation. Buyers can choose from an off-the-shelf kit of parts to create their own design, giving them a say in the external appearance as well as the layout and sustainable technology. The low-energy and low-carbon development features homes with semi-transparent photovoltaic roofs, and buyers will be able to manage costs by opting to self-finish the interiors. There are three routes to build, including shovel-ready plot, shell-and-core or a conventional turn-key solution, with plots sold with a contract to supply and assemble the house. Planning has been granted for a range of house types, with a palette of materials and a range of pre-designed layouts to choose from.
