The Older Women’s Cohousing (OWCH) New Ground Housing scheme is a group custom build project created by 20 women varying in age from their mid-fifties upwards. Founded on the principles of community living, the group have worked with Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects to design 26 apartments with communal facilities and a shared garden in outer London. Planning was granted in April 2013.

Plymouth City Council is bringing on a range of homes under its Plan for Homes, with a mix of self, custom and cohousing.
Lancaster Gardens, Whitleigh – 4 serviced plots on brownfield land
Maidstone Place, Ernesettle – 4 serviced plots on brownfield land
West Park – 32 serviced plots for self or custom build, with infrastructure in
Bickleigh – planning at least 12 plots as a mix of self and custom build
Chaucer Way – developer-led 137 unit site, with 4 serviced plots
Kings Tamerton CLT – 20 affordable and 30 open market plots
Nelson Project – flagship service veterans custom build scheme with 24 homes
Cherrywood, formerly Silver Sands
The site has been returned to the landowner and is no longer a custom build site.
Cherrywood, formerly Silver Sands, is a 14-home custom build site near Faversham, designed by Inside Out Architecture, on the edge of Thanet Way, Kent. The homes have been designed to Passivhaus standards, with a heavily planted landscape scheme. Potton is bringing on the site, which was granted planning permission in November 2015.
Eccleshall
Czero is planning to submit plans once more for the Eccleshall site, using the Housing and Planning Bill to improve the likelihood of it achieving planning.
Status at December 2015
Plans have been temporarily withdrawn for Eccleshall due to local opposition.
Status at July 2015
Plans have been submitted for 10 zero carbon custom built homes in the town of Eccleshall.
The proposal is for a range of homes on different sized plots, ranging from a pair of semi-detached houses, bungalows, three four and five bedroom detached houses. Houses will be zero carbon and conform to a design code.
Tanglewood, Blaina
This site has now been returned to the landowner and is no longer a custom build site.
Custom Build Homes is bringing on a number of serviced plots on a 27-plot site in Blaina, Blaenau Gwent, the first custom build project in Wales. Outline planning has been granted for a range of three- to six-bedroom homes, with a range of design and build out packages offered via Custom Build Homes.
Beighton Road
10 serviced custom build plots are to be included in a larger developer by Persimmon on a 3.02 hectare site in Woodhouse, Sheffield.
Bantaskin Street
Six serviced plots are being brought to market by Glasgow City Council for self builders. Purchasers will commission their own home, with support through open days where they can discuss their choices with local architects. The plots are supplied with a design code and plot passport.
Fruit Market
A group custom build project with the potential for up to 40 homes on a central Nottingham site. Brought on by Blueprint, the joint venture developer owned by Aviva Investors’ Igloo Regeneration and Nottingham City Council.
Atterbury , Middleton
Morris Homes has been named as development partner on the proposed 117-home project brought on by the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) at Atterbury. The site includes provision for 15 serviced plots, which will have a two-year minimum residency clause. Currently the plans are still being worked on, with planning submissions expected in Autumn.
Beeston Park
Outline planning permission was granted in February 2016 for Beeston Park, an urban extension to Norwich, which is being promoted by U+I Plc. Development managers TOWN are currently working on the design code for the site.

Status at October 2015
A 20 year project to create a new market town with a proposed population of 8,000 people living in 3,520 homes of mixed type, style and tenure, less than 3 miles from the city centre of Norwich. A register of potential buyers interested in custom and self build has been compiled, with a commitment to bring at least 90 custom and self build plots over the life of the project, with a handful being available per year. Work is under way to bring opportunities for custom-build and self-build to market during 2017.
