32 homes being built a customised element and sweat equity from the residents, in Toxteth, Liverpool. The project is being run by housing charity Helping People, Building Communities with support from industry professionals and materials companies.
Aylesbury Woodlands

Located just east of Aylesbury, Aylesbury Woodlands is a 195 hectare mixed-use site including commercial and leisure premises, green space and an estimated 1,100 houses, including some custom build.
Bath Street
Architect John Kinsley is working with a group of people to create a collective custom build at an infill site on Bath Street, Portobello, Edinburgh.
The concept started in 2013, and brought local residents with an interest in the project together, coming up with a plan for the build that reflected budgets and spatial requirements of interested parties.
Lovedon Fields, Kings Worthy
Eleven reservations and 60 serious enquiries have been secured at a sales event for Lovedon Fields.

A site of 50 custom build plots, on an 80 plot site, of between 3-5 bedroom homes in Hampshire, brought on by developer HAB Housing. Purchasers have the optionc to customise layouts and finishes to suit their needs, with services offered including self-finish and turn key.
Redcliffe Way
Planning has been submitted for the erection of a modular SNUG Home on a site at Redcliffe Way in Bristol. The house is a prototype modular home that could offer a viable solution for affordable custom built homes, and will house an exhibition on completion. The project is brought on by Ecomotive, with design by architects Barton Willmore.
Shaldon Road
Bristol Community Land Trust’s (BCLT) is bringing on a site at Shaldon Road, Bristol for a cohousing community, building on the success of its Fishponds site. The development will include six custom build plots and fifteen one-, two- and three-bedroom self finish apartments.
Hammill Park
19 self build plots on a development near Sandwich in Kent, brought on by Quinn Estates. The site is enabled self build, with serviced plots with OPP on them.
Lawrence Court
Work has started on site at Knightstone Housing Association’s third custom build co-housing project for ex-service personnel working on a ‘Train and build’ programme. The development will see the demolition of an office block which is to be replaced by 14 new homes, with ten 1-bed and four 2-bed properties for rent by the people involved in the project. Ten will be for the Train and build programme members, while four will be for ex-service personnel who are unable to be involved with the build.
York Road
Knightstone Housing Association has worked with homeless ex-service personnel to build 10 custom built homes for them to rent. Working with main contractor United Living, the ex-forces personnel have learnt new skills as part of the ‘Train and learn’ programme, which is designed to help them engage with the community and increase their employability.
