The Right to Build Task Force is looking for an experienced project manager to act as Head of the Right to Build Task Force for a six-month maternity cover period.

Working at the forefront custom and self build, it shares emerging good planning practice via its online resources and with bespoke work delivered by its panel of experts, for both the public and private sector.

Advice includes expertise on local authority compliance with the ‘Right to Build’ legislation, strategic planning, policy and guidance, demand and more.

As the ideal candidate you will have experience of the UK planning system and/or the UK housing sector, which will support you as you lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the Task Force. This involves co-ordinating the panel of Experts and setting-up, managing and evaluating projects undertaken by the Task Force for the organisations it supports.

As Acting Head you will lead the Marketing and Communications Strategy and supervise NaCSBA MarComms Exec in its delivery, as well as liaise with NaCSBA’s Finance Director and its CEO to ensure MHCLG’s funding requirements are met. You will also be responsible for identifying and securing alaternative funding sources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To manage the consultancy: project manage each piece of work and client, win new work, keep the Expert panel refreshed, trained and in contract.
  • To ensure effective governance and reporting up to date.
  • To set communication and PR strategy for the Task Force.
  • Comply with requirements of funders.

Work is home based and could be full-time or part-time depending on your experience, and is supported by a part-time Office Manager as well as from other NaCSBA team members.
