Graven Hill Tailormade products

The Right to Build Task Force will now be the sole body conducting professional learning visits to Graven Hill, the UK’s largest Custom and Self Build site in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The site has attracted much press and professional attention as an exemplar of what the route can deliver in the UK. With 1,900 homes planned for its 10 year build life, the site is enabling single Self-build homes, which are effectively Custom Builds as the planning, plots and services are all supplied, as well as numerous other models.

Some of these include smaller, more affordable products, Tailored terraced products that offer a hybrid route to customisation, and opportunities for community-led housing.

NaCSBA and the Right to Build Toolkit will be publicising the next visit, which is expected to be around spring 2019.
