NaCSBA member Hugr Homes is celebrating securing planning permission for 50 custom build opportunities at Wellbank Park in the Lake District National Park.
A first for the National Park, Hugr Homes, in partnership with landowner FN Solutions, will bring on the plots, set in 12 acres, along with landscaping and community facilities, including a café, pool, co-working space, meeting rooms, community exhibition space and gym facilities. This site will also include eight holiday homes for people with disabilities.
Set around two lakes, the development of 50 plots for detached houses and bungalows already has the first phase of 18 plots underway, with several houses nearing completion, and some plots still on the market.
The homes in this first phase were secured under a Section 73 Amendment to the original wider site permission. The new planning permission brings these 18 plots under the same approval, ensuring that conditions for the plots are the same across the site.
Located near the town of Bootle in West Cumbria, Wellbank Park is located on a former Ministry of Defence site, like Graven Hill in Bicester. Hugr Homes is the enabler on site, using a custom build model where buyers work with Hugr Homes to design and build their home.
Buyers can choose from a range of starter housetypes or work with Hugr to develop their own design, with timber frames manufactured by specialist Fleming Homes. Houses are built to the buyers’ requirements and in accordance with an agreed design guide.
