MHCLG has released their Right to Build registers data for the period to October 2023. NaCSBA will work to publish its assessment of the data as soon as possible.
At initial inspection, Peter Johns, NaCSBA CEO has commented: “Whilst the number of people on the Registers continues to grow – albeit that our analysis shows it substantially underestimates real demand for custom and self build – a decline in the number of planning permissions granted over the previous year is disappointing.
Custom and self build (CSB) has a key role to play in helping to deliver both the quantity and quality of new homes that the UK needs and we will continue to press our case, and work to make custom and self build a mainstream choice in the UK housing market.”
