Congratulations to NaCSBA member Cherwell District Council which picked up the award for the NaCSBA-sponsored ‘Best Council for Self/Custom Builders’ category for the second time at the Build It Awards 2015. The annual ceremony celebrates self build and renovation by bringing together architects, manufacturers and key industry figures in recognition of innovation and excellence in the custom home sector.
Cllr John Donaldson, Cherwell’s lead member for housing, said: “This award recognises the success that Cherwell District Council is having in finding innovative solutions to the difficulty of providing affordable housing. We recognised that to meet many residents’ aspirations to have their own homes we would need to pursue new alternatives. Self build projects are pivotal to this, with Build! and Graven Hill (pictured) demonstrating how it can be done.
