The Right to Build Expo London: Unlocking the potential of Custom and Self-Build housing took place on 10 May and NaCSBA members can attend for free! Taking place at ExCel in the Docklands, visitors also get free access to Grand Designs Live with their ticket.
For those unfamiliar with them, the Right to Build Expos are a fantastic opportunity to get up to date with the Right to Build and the local picture, with presentations from NaCSBA, the Right to Build Task Force and local professionals working to bring on homes.
Brought to you in partnership by the Right-to-Build Task Force, NaCSBA and Wood for Good, the Expos provide insight and examples of best practice, with plenty of networking opportunities to grow your own practice.
Attendees typically include a range of planners, housing teams, developer, landowners, community groups, financiers and more from the world of Self and Custom Build and Community-led groups.
And the Expos come with excellent endorsement, as ex Housing Minister Alok Sharma (below) commented, saying they are “…a fantastic demonstration of government and industry working together to help this sector go from strength to strength.”
The Expos are also extremely useful for local authorities to attend as they work to provision sufficient serviced plots to meet the demand on their local Right To Build register. This is vital as there are now 33,000 people signed up to the registers, as revealed by a Freedom of Information request by NaCSBA in October 2017.
