The Right to Build Task Force is looking for new specialised experts to swell its pool of professionals, with a special focus on experts with planning, viability and affordable housing background.
The Task Force works to grow custom, self build and community-led housing choices in the UK, and operates like a consultancy with a bank of experts able to offer targeted regional advice. It works with a range of stakeholders, from landowners, developers, local authorities and community-led housing groups, helping to create more opportunities for custom and self building, with an emphasis on scale and affordability.
Practical knowledge of custom and self build
Applicants must have a deep practical knowledge and demonstrable experience relating specially to the delivery of Custom and Self Build housing. In line with the Task Force’s growing workload, it is particularly keen to hear from experienced professionals with skills in at least one of the following areas:
- Town planning and strategy development, particularly in the preparation of policy and development management
- Assessment of development viability and the procurement of sites
- Delivery of Affordable housing
Experts will be working closely with the Task Force Director and Manager and will be appointed on a contractual basis. Experts will be expected to be available for up to 20 working days per year to advise on projects and attend two management meetings a year, although no work is guaranteed.
The closing date for applications March 15th, and the Task Force will be in contact by April 5th with the outcomes.
