Right to Build Task Director Mario Wolf will be taking to the stage at Homes UK this autumn, sharing the Task Force’s experiences in supporting Custom and Self Build with key decision makers in housing, from every aspect of the property world.
He’ll be speaking on the Fusion 21 Buy Smarter stage at 15:00 on 28 November, part of the extensive two day Homes UK event at ExCel London on 27-28 November, sharing insight into the best practice around Custom and Self Build provision and its role in diversifying the UK homes market.
Homes UK is a show about innovation that takes an indepth look at the entire system of home building in the UK, taking in a range of accommodation, types and tenures from affordable homes to open market housing.
Across seven stages, the event brings together key influencers and decision makers who will be lifting the lid on some of the leading thinking on housing and the crises that continues to dog society. And that includes Custom and Self Building, and community-led housing as a viable route to additional and diverse housing supply.
Register to collaborate, discuss and experience new routes to best practice, as well as innovative solutions to the way we design, deliver and maintain homes in communities where people want to live.
Diversifying our housing market with Mario Wolf
It’s a shocking fact that the UK remains an outlier against many developed countries in regards to how few new homes are delivered by Custom and Self Build – many other countries deliver over 50% of housing this way.
However, Self and Custom Build should be a vital part of a diversified housing market as it boosts local economies and SME house builders, and it creates variety that the mass market builders simply don’t deliver.
The sector offers an alternative, additional, supply of housing that can benefit local authorities and residents, as well as landowners and builders. As well as contributing to Government housing targets, they can help speed up build out, as illustrated by Sir Oliver Letwin’s Independent Review of Build Out Rates.
