Task Force masterclasses

The Right to Build Task Force is running a pair of masterclasses focussing on how custom and self build can be used to deliver affordable homes.

The National Guidance for Custom and Self Build is clear that the model can be applied to affordable models. It states that: “Authorities should be aware that self-build and custom build can provide a route to affordable home ownership for those on low incomes.”

However, NaCSBA frequently gets asked what this actually looks like in practice, especially as part of larger sites that are solely delivering custom build homes.

To support understanding around the area, which is still evolving, the Right to Build Task Force is running a pair of CPD Masterclasses examining the issue, together with a look at some of the policy and practice that can facilitate it.
