Travis Perkins WholeHouse

Travis Perkins’ WholeHouse® digital platform is a new approach for the planning and design of a house paired with accurate detailing and materials pricing. Specifically focused on SME housebuilders, such as custom build developers, WholeHouse is designed to simplify this process.

The platform enables the entire process of creating a new home to be completed in an hour, producing a full set of drawings, up to 200 pages of construction details and a full bill of all the items necessary for the build.

As the UK’s largest builders merchant, Travis Perkins has a unique role to play in supporting the SME housebuilder market. This is a sector that has experienced a significant contraction in the last 40 years, from providing 40% of our homes to just 12%, as reported by the Federation of Master Builders.

What is WholeHouse?

Developed in partnership with leading industry professionals, including architects, planners and engineers, the system uses the BIM process to realise house designs through 3D visualisation linked to live and accurate materials pricing.

The designs can be easily adapted and tailored to customers preferences, offering an invaluable tool for SME house builders delivering 2- to 4-bedroom homes. These can be individual designs or can be used to scale up delivery of multiple units of the same house.

WholeHouse is aimed at regional builders creating less than 200 homes annually and works equally well with smaller sites.
Detailed material pricing offers transparency and certainty, with the platform minimising material waste and offering low-carbon choices.

This reduces the risk associated with development, with developers able to create costed construction drawings with accurate elevations, floorplans, cross sections and more. This removes the need for manually-costed drawings and individual subcontractor quotes.

With over half a billion tried-and-tested designs to draw upon, WholeHouse is fully compliant with the latest regulations, connected to real-time pricing.

Lee Jackson, director of WholeHouse said: “Being at the heart of construction, we take great pride in supporting our customers with new value-added services that help them to navigate an increasingly complex construction landscape with new legislation and decarbonisation targets.”

“WholeHouse will do just that, and help SME housebuilders, who are the lifeblood of regional property markets, to build better, more sustainable homes quickly and safely, whilst retaining control over the creative design elements and saving time and money.”

“This portal has been a year in the making and is the culmination of 500 years of collaboration and industry experience. It puts the housebuilder in the driving seat and enables them to simplify the traditionally complex process of planning, costing and building new homes at the click of a button.”
